The Gig

Roji Cat (loosely translating to "Alley Cat") is a Japanese-style microbrewery and tap house. Aiming to be a venue with a true point of difference, we helped craft a brand and space that was perfect for hosting a clowder of tipsy, mischievous strays.

The Game

Wanting to create an experience reminiscent of stumbling through a boozy Tokyo alleyway, unexpected tidbits and playful details are scattered throughout the venue. This immersive space invites patrons to discover something new with every visit.

Roji Cat is a microbrewery and bar dedicated to Japanese-style beers. Inspired by the narrow, bustling alleyways of downtown Tokyo, the bar features neon signage, lanterns, milk crates—and, after a lot of persuading on our part, a secret karaoke room.
Wanting to capture the boozy, eclectic energy of Golden Gai, we created a vibrant, mix-and-match brand identity bursting with colour and quirk. Playful, unexpected details are scattered throughout the venue, inviting patrons to fully immerse themselves in the experience.
In addition to the venue’s many touch points, we also developed a design system for their upcoming lineup of beers, each lovingly crafted by head brewer Toshi.

The range includes the Tokyo Sour Puss, Ginger Cat, Foggy Moggy, and their signature Japanese Rice Lager.
THE END. WHAT'S NEXT?
